If you are looking for a review of the Parque Mourabel hotel in Vilamoura, you have come to the right place! We stayed at the Parque Mourabel in Portugal’s beautiful Algarve region over the Christmas period. We found it to be a wonderfully friendly place for our family of five to base our adventures around Vilamoura and the Algarve from.

The hotel is a 30 minute walk from Vilamoura Marina. This means your stay will be a more secluded and quiet one. Enjoy the peace as you lounge on the lawn with the swimming pool one side and a seven story pine tree the other!

The top floor balconies of Parque Mourabel hotel in Vilamoura offer views like no other. Take time to appreciate the mountains on one side, the beautiful diamond-blue sea the other and, of an evening, some of the BEST sunsets in town!

First Impressions – Parque Mourabel Hotel Vilamoura review

Parque Mourabel Hotel in Vilamoura is not far from Faro airport. The transfer takes around 45 minutes to complete after all the hotel drop offs. However, if you were to get a private transfer, the journey would take around 30 minutes.

On arrival the reception area has a very homely feel. The lovely chap who checked us in was extremely friendly. He was also very patient with our three munchkins, who were desperate to run around and shake off all that sitting down on the aeroplane and the bus transfer!

All the rooms at the hotel are accessible from outside. I really enjoyed this small detail, because I didn’t have to keep telling the kids to be quiet. There are also two sets of lifts to help transport guests and luggage up to the different floors. This was good news for us as we were on the 5th floor!

The Room

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment. The bedroom was large with two single beds and access to the balcony. The apartment also came with a full toilet with bath and shower and a kitchenette with fridge-freezer, microwave, oven and kettle. The living room was a good size with two sofa beds, a TV and dining table.

The icing on the cake was the HUGE balcony and those amazing views! I have never stayed in a room that offered the views that Parque Mourabel Vilamoura gave us. They were simply amazing! We felt very spoilt!

Restaurants

The bar and restaurant area is on the bottom floor of the hotel and accessible from three separate entrances. Half of the restaurant is inside and the other half in a open sunroom looking out to the pool and lawn area.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all available and are easy to purchase once you arrive. That’s if you don’t have food covered with your holiday booking.

We had breakfast included in our stay at Parque Mourabel Vilamoura and it is one of our favourite things to indulge in! Breakfast is a great time for us to eat as a family and that’s because everyone is hungry and no one is tired! It’s our perfect trade-in to going out for dinner!

The breakfast at Parque Mourabel Vilamoura was packed full of variety and choice. Every morning we could choose from a cooked breakfast, cereals, breads, meats, cheeses, fruits, yoghurts, hot teas and coffees and traditional cakes from the local area. All the food was set out buffet style and we helped ourselves to as much food as we liked.

Breakfast was easily one of the best parts of our day.

You may find Parque Mourabel Vilamoura are able to offer a breakfast, lunch and dinner deal for a set price, which you can ask about at reception.

Facilities at Parque Mourabel Vilamoura

The pool and lawn areas are well maintained throughout the year. The water in December is certainly a little chilly and we know this because we got in it! However, the pool is cleaned and open everyday. There are also sun loungers ready to use all year round too.

Parque Mourabel Vilamoura also offers a shuttle bus to various places in town. These can be arranged at reception and are free of charge.

Location of Parque Mourabel Vilamoura

Parque Mourabel in Vilamoura is located about a 30 minute walk from Vilamoura Marina. The walk from the hotel to the beaches and Vilamoura Marina could not be easier or more enjoyable.

The main part of the walk is designed to go through a designated park area which runs down the middle of the main road into town.

At no point does the walk take you next to the road. This means this walk is very safe and excellent for families. In fact, it feels very much like you are walking through a very lovely private park from the hotel to the beach! Even at night the area is well lit and well used by lots of people waking back and forth.

In conclusion

If you are looking for a quiet, kid-friendly and reasonably priced hotel in Vilamoura, the Parque Mourabel is a top pick!
