Moon Bottles Review

The Moon Bottles to review in this article were gifted to Well Travelled Munchkins. All opinions, words and pictures are our own.

When we travel we are all about packing smart and thinking sustainably. As much as we can we are careful to reuse, recycle and reduce waste and instil these good habits into our children.

Moon Bottles are on a mission to reduce the use and need for single-use plastics with their reusable water bottle that comes complete with a life time guarantee.

So when we got the opportunity to try out some Moon Bottles for ourselves we were excited to see what they were all about!

First Impressions – Moon Bottles review

My first, very positive, impression of Moon Bottles was all about the packaging! Sitting in a very unassuming brown box were two very smart, very informative, well designed and well made cardboard cylinders.

I’ve said this before, but when the little things are done well you know you are dealing with a good product.

Care instructions for the bottles are printed on the back of each tube and all packaging is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. I was already excited and I hadn’t even got to the bottles yet!

The bottles themselves are sleek, good looking and lightweight. All in all I was eager to test them out on our next trip to Disneyland Paris!

Using Moon Bottles – Moon Bottles review

We received two Moon Bottles in two sizes. The silver one is 260ml and the blue 500ml. Bottles are also available in a 750ml size.

Our Moon Bottles were primarily to take hot drinks in. We visited the parks in November so we were preparing for cold weather. We thought our Moon Bottles would be perfect for a winter warmer while we spent our days wandering around the attractions.

Moon Bottles out and about

I only took one backpack which was full of stuff for the baby, so the bottles had to go in the bottom of the pram. Moon Bottles state that liquids stay hot in the container for 12 hours, but with such direct exposure to the elements I thought we might not see those kinds of numbers.

However, I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the bottles!

I put tea in my 500ml bottle and hot water in the 260ml bottle and both stayed hot for the duration of our day. Some days we were leaving our accommodation at 7.30am and returning home at 6pm, so that’s a good 11 hours of having a good hot cuppa on hand!

Quality of Moon Bottles – Moon Bottles review

The Moon Bottles are well made as well as being very stylish. They come in three different sizes and 5 different colours.

When empty the Moon Bottle is quite lightweight and

all drink bottles are double walled, vacuum sealed and made from premium 18/8 stainless steel metal. They are also 100% leakproof and BPA Free.

Moon Bottles are also eco-friendly, they don’t cost the earth and they come with a lifetime guarantee.

Cheers to Moon Bottles

The bottles fit into car cup holders and the opening accommodates regular sized ice cubes. They can also keep cold drinks cold for 24 hours!

When they are filled with boiling water the temperature of the water cannot be felt on the outside of the bottle and, with the lid on, more than safe enough to be given to my 2 year old to hold.

Possible Problems

I don’t foresee any real problems with this product. It does exactly what it says it does.

The only thing it doesn’t have is a carry handle, but this is less of a ‘problem’ and more of a design choice. For me this takes nothing away from this fab bottle!

Price – Moon Bottles review

The price of the Moon Bottles is in line with most of it’s competitors and for a full list of prices click here.

Moon bottles sound fab, I love taking hot drinks when we’re on hikes in winter and am all for cutting down single use plastic as much as possible.
